CHAMBER ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY TO ATTEND CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUM

election2016A public forum featuring candidates for the Temecula City Council will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. The Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce will host the City Council Candidates Forum at the Temecula Civic Center Council Chambers, 41000 Main Street, Temecula. The forum will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The nine Temecula City Council candidates vying for the two open seats are: Ron Bradley, James Cooley, Jeffrey Frichner, Angel Garcia, Michael McCracken (incumbent), Michael Naggar (incumbent), Adam Ruiz, James Stewart, and Skylar Tempel. All candidates have been invited to participate. For statements from each candidate click here

The purpose of the forum is to enlighten residents of the issues, ideas and opinions of the candidates. The session will be moderated and candidates will respond to questions provided by members of the Southwest California Legislative Council.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Temecula Residents will be asked to exercise their right to vote in an important local election. The TVCC encourages all Temecula residents to be informed and active in the voting process.

TEMECULA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SUPPORTS MEASURE “S” TO MAINTAIN TEMECULA’S HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE AND SERVICES

The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce voted unanimously on July 28 to support Measure S to ensure Temecula’s high quality of life and prevent cuts to safety and services. As our City is now maturing and developer’s fees are decreasing, the Board said we must work together to protect and continue to maintain the quality of life for citizens.

Measure S — the City of Temecula’s Emergency Response, Public Safety, and Vital City Services Measure — proposes to increase Temecula’s sales tax by 1 percent. If approved, Measure S will provide funds to maintain public safety and 911 emergency response services, keep roads, parks and infrastructure in good condition, and provide other vital services and programs that make Temecula a desirable place to live, work and do business. Funds generated by Measure S will remain local and be spent on local essential services that benefit the residents and businesses in Temecula.
